RESERVED PLAYTESTING BLOCKS

While we are still working out the final details, there will be at least 24 tables in the room with 4 chairs each. This will allow designers to either play with up to 3 others or observe up to 4 people playing their design. Please plan accordingly when choosing which games you might playtest. Chairs may not be moved to acommodate 5+ player games.

In order to help cover our costs to attend Origins, each of the Reserved Playtesting Blocks will have a $15 fee, giving you the table for the entire 4 hour block.

In order to allow as many designers to participate as possible, we are asking that everyone limit themselves to a maximum of 2 blocks, and only 1 table per block of the same game.

To reserve a playtesting block, purchase a "badge" from the Unpub@Origins Tabletop.Events page - this is separate from your Origins Game Fair badge. Specific information regarding the on-site process (including table assignments) will be sent out to registered designers.

NOTE: Table signs are allowed, floor banners are not.

SPEED PITCHING

Want the opportunity to show your game design off to multiple publishers in a short window of time? Our Speed Pitching events could be for you! We will have an In-Person Speed Pitch event. Interested designers must submit their games for consideration using the form HERE. The deadline for submissions will be announced soon.

PRO-AM GAME JAM

Stretch your creative muscles in this game design exercise. Unpub makes a random set of restrictions for a game design: for example, what theme your game has to involve, what kind of genre your game must be, or a twist in what the game can't involve.

Game industry pros will lead their teams of Origins attendees to make a game and playtest it. Then at the end of the game jam period, each team will present what they came up with, and compare just all the different directions the same restrictions can go.

We look forward to seeing you all in Columbus soon!

Founded in 2010, The Unpublished Games Network, called Unpub, is a hub for information regarding game design and playtesting. We support the game design and development community by organizing events (both in person and online) designed to help unpublished games and their designers receive public play-tests for feedback and introductions to publishers looking for games to sign.
